Love Whispered Series- II – It’s Deliberate!

Jesus asked Peter, do you love me? If you love me take care of my sheep.

[John 21:16 Jesus repeated the question: "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
"Then take care of my sheep," Jesus said.]

The word CARE was born from the idea of interest, and the Oxford dictionary defines its verb form as: “to feel concerned or interest” or “feel affection or liking.”

This care or attention cannot be born out of a sense of duty , but the base necessarily has to be nothing else, but LOVE! Jesus directly connected love with care! For Peter to take care of Jesus’ sheep would mean to spend Peter’s money, time and energy on them. It was so obvious- if you love something, then you will spend time, money and energy on what you love.

Think about this- when you have a special someone in your life, would you not strive to keep him/her happy? If that’s your wife or girlfriend, would you not love to buy her gifts? And you wouldn’t mind talking to her 24/7, spending all your saved money on the phone bills! You wouldn’t even mind traveling, no matter how far, using all your energy and creativity to make that special thing happen to the love of your life! Why? Simply because you love that individual.

My point is: How much do you love God? Before you blurt out an answer, here’s another question: how much of your time, money, energy in a day goes to God?

This thought has been storming my mind for a few days now, to the extent that I can’t do anything at all without thinking how I am wasting my time in anything else but in spending time with Jesus,the lover of my soul. And that is making me speak in tongues, and taking occasional breaks getting lost in His love even when I am with people.

I hope this blog does that to you from now on, because if you really love Jesus the way you say you do – then when was the last time you thought about Jesus? Did your last minute have Jesus in it, how long has it been since you whispered a word to Jesus today? Let your heart be disciplined to spend hours with your love. Make a deliberate attempt to spend time with the one you love.

Off you go with Jesus – I pray this post troubles you and convicts you enough to get lost with Jesus and think nothing, but Jesus. Oh how I’d love to hear from you about it!

    How convicting can some messages be..
    Believe me this message has pricked me so much that i am sitting here wondering that am I rememberin my Lord Jesus every moment i can???
    Am i talking to HIM?Is he waiting for me to talk to HIM?????
    After reading this i am sure that i wil put in more time than for my true lover Lord Jesus…..
    One thing in life is so true: Men can failu But GOD will never fail u….
    Let the younger generation be touched by such blogs and may they be able to see the true lover and HE is Lord Jesus….

    Bro it was such a convicting msg. thanks once again. Holy spirit convicted me so much that right away i jus went into his presence after readin this. The scripture that u were prayin was soo beautiful where the Lord ask’s simon ” Do u love me.” It jus made my heart melt away. Amen Lord! Pls keep us in ur love always Lord! Specially whn we get wat we want from our Lord we always tend to relax. It so true we spend a lot of our time n effort on so many worthless things n 4get the real lover of our soul.     i donn knw wat to write ….
    it just left me thinking….
    where was i spending time????
    a person is gifted with 24 hours in a day… and out of that he spends most of his time with family, in office or in colleges…
    one thing i understood from the blog is that no matter where you are , you can carry JESUS our DADA with us…

    some places doesnt permit the enty of people without pass or something, but there is no place in the world where u cannot take Jesus along with u…
    This blog has helped me understand the important of Time too…

    The air we breath is Precious gift from the almighty.. its his grace that we are alive …
    i have learned something from my leaders ..that while we are travelling, driving, playing… try to speak in tounges… this helps us to focus more on Jesus..and helps us to grow spiritually…

    A person does exercises and workouts in gym to keep his physical body fit and alive…Likewise, to keep our spirit alive, we need to exercise.. and speaking in toungues is one method ..it not only help us grow spiritually but also brings us closer to our DADA….

    Shyju chetta.. keep burning in the spirit for our christ…

Its decided by us…Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you…… James 4:8… Got to admit this … Nothing is as joyful as compared to spending your time with God… Waking up with Him ..Conversing with Him throughout the day…Surely no word can comprehend the peace & joy of His fellowship

    I guess your prayer is well answered because yes, I’m indeed ‘troubled’ by this blog entry especially on the ‘provoking’ fact that you actually take occasional breaks just to get lost in His love even when you’re with people! Well, this is really something for me think about besides also the fact that how time is actually wasted when one doesn’t spend time with Jesus and instead spending time on seemingly more important things. A paradox it may seem but it’s actually a fact that is truer than true. All these make me think again about my love life with the Lord and I pray that I will really love Jesus more and more each day and do what it takes. I’m truly blessed by your writings.     This message was really breath-taking one. It pinches my heart knowing & realizing that I have been so pre occupied by a lot of things and spending less with the lover of my soul… with JESUS.. I kept on telling Him that I love Him so much yet I have failed to show. I’m always saying that He’s everything to me yet there are other things in my mind that excluded Him. I’ve told Him that my heart and my eyes are focused on Him yet they are looking and desiring for other things.

    Truly, there shouldn’t be anything thing and any one that can come between us & God.
