Love Whispered Series – III – The Silhouette of LOVE

Satan, the defeated foe, was still up to his old tricks doing what he knew the best- suffocating Peter with guilt from his past. With the ‘I’ve done it again, so its best not to get back’ thoughts dominating, fresh memories of broken dreams, the guilt of betraying innocent blood and the cock crowing still ringing in his ears, Peter rushes to the boat and picks up the oar and his fishing nets that he gave up when he had met Jesus.

Instead of simple repentance and returning back to the Lord, Peter is now sinking deeper and deeper into condemnation and self pity, trying to run away from his past.

.

Back to Square One

How alike are we to Peter? How many times have we found ourselves at the same point from where we’ve started? Just when we seem to be enjoying a perfect communion with our Master, we find ourselves trapped in the great pressure of denying our Master right before His eyes!

And how often have we gone back to our past life filled with guilt and lies? How often and how long have we tried to complete ourselves with the emptiness of the world, only to return back to Jesus?

Time For a Fresh Start

It finally was morning. Peter and his friends rowed closer to the land. Thank God for the dawn. It gives us hope that there is no mess too powerful to hold us down and by His grace sooner or later we will receive our freedom.

Peter decides to go back to the land, and lo! he can see a known silhouette waiting for him. “It’s our Master,” John cries out! It was the Jesus himself, preparing breakfast for them on hot coals! As if saying “Son, its time for a fresh start” Wow, what a paradox!!!

Silhouette of Love Waiting For You

Friend, God wants to remind you that He’s been waiting for you all this while. It’s true that Peter saw Jesus in the morning, but God’s promise for you is that He will never leave you nor forsake you. That means Jesus was right there when Peter picked up the oar and his old nets, and was waiting patiently throughout the night to see Peter return to Him.

Jesus loves you so much. How much longer will you keep Him waiting? If only you could look through the dark night of your life, you will see this same silhouette, the silhouette of love waiting for you. He knows your heart, and what you have being through and still He loves you unconditionally.

Right from that time when you decided to go back to your sin; right from that instance when you decided to pick that old oar, your LOVE, our Master has been there, waiting for you!

And how did Peter respond? He did not wait for his ‘partners in crime’ to join him. The Bible says, Peter jumped into the water swam towards Jesus! If you truly love Him, you will not wait till your friends or the world decide to change, the change will start with you, as you take that leap of love!

Would you, like Peter, drop your old oar and  take that leap of love towards the one who truly loves you?

So many times have we made Jesus waiting for us.

But HE is true to His word.

“God of peace Himself sanctifies us through and through [separate us from profane things, makes us pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and our spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).”
24Faithful is He Who is calling us [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you]. – We can trust his unfailing love …. Im blessed by this blog.

My Dear Master has been waiting so long – Its time I get back to my knees, desperately.

    Thank you Pastor.

Wow !!!! Feeling short of words… There is no conviction better than this.. Your Love is waiting for you with open arms waiting for you to come back to Him..as you are…Just come back to me.This is it, what He means.. No need to stay in condemnation.. Can anyone argue this.. nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 8:39…Its the time to understand what is the breadth and length and height and depth of the One who loved us while we were yet sinners & through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works so that we may serve the living God!!! He also cleaned our guilt conscience along with the sins for reconciling us to the eternal life, our Creator..Hallelujah !!!

    Hallelujah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was an amazing fact. Too often guilt and condemnation conquers minds as opposed to listening to the Spirit’s conviction. Once guilty, and condemned hopelessness sets in and the path to further sin is approached.

The devil and his crafty ways are like that, making us believe a lie that we are beyond reconciliation. The truth of the matter is that the Blood of Jesus covers all sins. The devil is a liar and throws humanity into a lie of thinking that the Cross is not a good enough work to conquer sin.

The fact is: Jesus is Victorious. Christ has conquered darkness. What can wash away our sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. So we stand in the truth, and listen to His voice and be assured that no sin is too big for Jesus.
All we need to do is, remain in Him and be confident of the Love our God has for us.

    Amazing Blog

    Blessings Shyju! :)

    Hi Brother in Christ
Its truly a blessing to read each time your blog..It touches the soul each time..”Love whispered 3″ is a very relavent situation in today’s times.
specially among the young christian youth…the most powerful weapon the devil is using to make the youth to fall and not to grow in christ is “GUILT”…
since the devil cannot make them to fall in anyway..he uses this mode as his prime weapon…
but praise be to god …that god has used his minister to tell the world that there is a father in heaven who is waiting with his arms open wide for you…no matter what you have done in ur past life…no matter whatever sins u have commited…he is waiting for u to run to him…because he wants to hold u in his loving arms…and his arms is the most satisfying arms that once in u will never be the same again…
may god bless his servant and his ministry abundantly….
    god bless u

This was Peter who walked n talked n slept n ate with Jesus for 3 n a half years boldly walking away (with the frustration takin the better hold of him) from the very ministry his Lord called him to!He not only did that, but went BACK to the fishing, the very proffesion out of which Jesus ‘d called him.

How many a time have i done that to u Father?showed my back while U were waitin with arms open wide, ready to forgive n’ start anew even tho ‘m all sick n’ pathetic.. ‘m comin back to U Dad, my silhouette of love..!

One more thing, this was the very msg which Bro.Shy preached to a crowd at the Youth Christmas-08 celebrations in Davangere in my church.Close to 140 people gave their lives to have a friend ,Jesus, in their lives forever!

    God bless u!

Thank You Brother Shyju so very much for sharing this Holy Spirit inspired blog. It was extremely apt for me in terms of turning back to the nets as Peter did. This blog revealed to me that it is not by my strength or effort that I am loved. I am loved regardless, that is the faithfulness of the Lord.

Upon reading this blog something stirred in me, although I make mistakes I must repent and turn to Him and not repent and grovel in self-pity. Thats the devil’s tactic, he is very good in throwing guilt at us. In fact that’s the reason for most people back-sliding. The guilt that wrings our spirit leads us to assume that we would never be good enough. The truth is, that Jesus is always ALWAYS faithful. His LOVE is unconditional.

After reading this, I thought I’d share this wonderful piece from David G. Benner’s book “Surrender to Love – Discovering the Heart of Christian Spirituality”

“Transformation demands that we meet God in the vulnerability of our sin and shame rather than retreating to try to get on with self-improvement projects. But it also requires that we stay long enough in His loving presence to allow our shame to begin to melt away. For love to transform us, not only must we meet in vulnerability, we must also linger long enough for it to penetrate our woundedness.” – David G Benner
“The humbling encounter with the depths of my sin leads to a love for God that is grounded in an appreciation for grace” – David G Benner

Thank you so much Shyju for sharing this. It was an eye opener for me. God BLESS you~
