Not All Tomorrow is From Yesterday

One of the constant mistakes people do is to fit tomorrow into a box of yesterday’s know-how. Truth  be told, there is a huge contrast between our experiences and expectations. Whether it is in a business or relationships, the truth is that tomorrow keeps changing. We cannot step into tomorrow based on what happened 10 years ago.

forget past 2A struggling businessman who is afraid to take any more chances because of the past financial losses; a girl with her time ticking, still running away, afraid of any relationships because of the past hurts. We hear it again and again. Additionally, many genuine relationships are broken because of doubting and mistrust. Comparing your husband or wife with someone else that hurt you before does not add to the solution at all. Just because a Judas Iscariot betrayed you does not mean that you go around distrusting everyone else.

Now, it is a fact that past experiences do help you get smarter but it also has the power to keep you from your future if you are not careful with it. So, gain your wisdom from your past but also remember to be open and trust God more than before with your future. Don’t let your past come into your mind or be remembered.       Isaiah 65:17For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.” How about entering our lives daily without specific assumptions about how things are going to turn out?

So, even if you were hurt by your first love, broken by your past abuse, failed by the ones you trusted the most, and so on and so forth – let us not live life by yesterday. Do not expect your current relationship to deliver those same things. Isaiah 43:18 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” Suspend your presumptions, throw away those anxieties and just enjoy today, the day that the Lord has made.

How about you? Have those past memories overshadowed you? Let’s refocus.

    Well said bro..
The hardest thing for our grey matter to do is to forget the hurt n’ the abuse-they keep comin bk as fresh cuts in the name of worry, stress n’ depression. Only the HolySpirit can heal n’ let th scars disappear n’ grant us the bliss of forgettin th past. A big God BLESS.

Truely,to trust or not to trust, “reasoning” always fail…
Even the same Juda was quite different mentally after the betrayel…
A complete dependance on “spiritual discerment” never fails…
So never again a prisoner of past but a pioneer in future…
    Thank you brother.

  • no name

but will god punish if u cnt resist tinking abt the past n wanting to do smting tat is wrong in god’s eyes….

  • Me

@ Mr/ Ms “No Name” God will never punish u for anything… but if u remember ur past n keep on moving in ur future.. u r punishing urself by not enjoying wat Jesus has in store for u…
2 Corinthians 5:17 says”This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
    and also
John 10:10 says “The thief(devil-who reminds you of the past) comes only to steal, kill, and destroy but I(Jesus) have come that they may enjoy or have life, and have it abundantly (to the full)
    Renew ur mind!
    God Bless u!
