Dealing With Rejection

We began dealing with, “The most bitter man” in the last post. (If you missed it, you can find it here.) There are many weapons that the enemy uses to bring bitterness into one’s life and one of the most difficult roots of bitterness is the one that takes form through rejection.

There is something so ugly about rejection that takes a lot out of a person; to feel unwanted is a terrible feeling. Most of the cases, it really takes God to heal a rejected heart. Even though many may pretend to have overcome, signs of that rejection are seen in the way they treat others around them.

I heard this illustration; it is when the stomach rejects the food that we throw up. And the food rejected by the body stinks immediately. There is a foul smell that is associated with rejection that troubles the mind. The thought that you don’t measure up is a very hurtful one.

Seeing It How God Sees

We must train ourselves to see through God’s perspective. Every time you go through something, be quick to see how God is looking at you. He is your Father. He understands your rejection more than anyone else. If God is on your side no matter who rejects you, God has accepted you.
One day, the Holy Spirit reminded me of how I should handle the praise of people carefully. Because the truth is that if the praise of the people matter to you then their rejection will highly matter to you. People on a good day will sing, ‘Hosanna’ and another day shout, ‘Crucify Him!’. Train yourself to thank God for the acceptance from people, that way you will be secure in God even when rejection comes.

Release to Be Released

How can we ever forget that humans are human and that humans do err! If they do not want to accept you, you are then forced to move on but that is not the end of your world. BECAUSE, it is only over when God says it is over! So, I’d rather be the one with a lighter heart and a face that smiles in knowing I’m accepted by God! So, let us choose to love as Christ chooses to love even them that rejected HIM. Romans 15: 7 says, “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Does your life bring praise to God?
One of the alarming verse in the Bible is from Matthew 6: 15, “But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”. My friend, the greatest citizen on this planet is the citizen of heaven because he is accepted by God! One moral we can surely learn from all throughout the Bible is that to be rejected by man is to be accepted by God. It was the rejection of Christ that made him the cornerstone. Mark 12: 10 “Have you not read this Scripture:

“The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;”

So, release today and be released into your destiny in God.

I've been truly blessed by this post. It ls surprising to see and know that even the most popular people go thru this at one time or another, . It is very very very difficult to deal with this and many will advise you and say you gotta accept it and move on ……..Easier said than done . But knowing Jesus changes everything , though the rejection remains, He is with you through it and somehow ,………..it starts to get better as He begins to take it away . With it He takes away even the by products like anger hate bitterness etc. and replaces it with His love and His peace "which surpasses ALL understanding. "

I came across this blog because I wanted to know how the Holy Spirit – Jesus deal with rejection. I have been rejected by many who I love dearly. I became ill and almost instantaneously and simultaneously I got rejected. I never treated even my enemy this way. The people consist of long time friends-Christians non Christians and family members. I dealt with it for many years. I tried to be strong about it– by continuing to show love and treating them how I wanted to be treated.

Nevertheless, I became severely depressed and recently I behaved in a very horrible way. I rejected someone who grieved my spirit the last time I had an encounter with them. I was sorry. I apologized. Nevertheless, their pain caused them to avoid me even after an apology. Rejection can cause one to behave unsmilingly harsh as Shyju stated, even if it’s not their usual way of conducting themselves. We have to take the pain of rejection to God and when we know how he dealt with it we can do as he did. Never reject anyone. Move on to those who are accepting. Never stop loving and praying for those who rejected you. It’s sometimes hard to do. However, it is a healthy thing to do. Some scriptures that may be helpful, John 1:11, 12, Mark 6: 1-6, Gen 6:3, and Isaiah 53:3. Thanks for the encouragement shyju. Pranjali, and to all who are struggling with this. Be encouraged. We are living in the last days and the enemy uses rejection to stop the works of God. Continue to do good and make every occasions to find a place of acceptance first by our Heavenly Father and then others. Be Good & Bllessed”.

i came with two and a half hear to my christian parents, last year my soul got healed in one moment from the rejection of my earliest childhood. It was a miracle and i can see the world and everything in a trustful way. Rejection really can change the mind of man and god has to heal it! I know how much rejection hurts, and i can feel with those they still suffer and i can encourage them to hold on on god… God bless u for ur wisdom and seaking god in all matters.

  • Jherrel

Suffered with this alot and this is what I gathered on this particular spirit. Please feel free to take note from my notes Shyju. :)

    REJECTION

When God created mankind, He created both male and female in His image. I believe that one of the things that makes man like God is the inherent desire to be recognized, valued, accepted and appreciated. Rejection undermines that natural, God-given characteristic that predisposes each one of us with the desire to be loved, cherishedm appreciated not for what we do, have, or attain, but just for being an individual who has been fearfully and wonderfully made. Rejection is one of the ways the enemy undermines self-worth, self-esteem, self-image, purpose and potential. Rejection comes in two basic forms: covert and overt. Covert can be characterised by someone saying they love and support you but never showing it. Overt is more obvious. It comprises verbal, physical or social ostracizing, isolation, discrimination, and segregation. Rejection from others often leads to the rejection of self, which produces feelings of worthlessness and inferiority, depression, emotional isolation, introsepection, perfectionism, irreponsibility, guilt and self hatred. People who have lived under constant rejection eventually have a difficult time expressing feelings, asserting himself/herself, or taking control of his/her life. Rejected people reject as a result of an aquired defense mechanism. (See Mark 8:31; 12:10.)

    REJECTION COUNTERATTACK

Ask God to show you your true worth in Him. Do not seek affirmation from others at the expense of the affirmation that God gives you. See yourself as God sees you. "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." (Eph 1:6)

Hope this helps any lost soul who comes on this website seeking help/advice.

    Kingdom Blessings

I learnt something new today. No matter how many people turn against you, hate you and you get rejected in the world, don't worry because Jesus loves you and has accepted you. In my situation, people just hate me for who I am, just because I get hyper sometimes, or sometimes cuz of the way I look (first impressions) and they judge me, accuse me, and I alwayss asked myself, why God, what have i ever done wrong. But after today, I know God has accepted me and he loves me with all his heart. And his love is all I need. All this time, ive cried and went through a small upset mode, but now, im happy because I know Jesus Loves Me.

    Thank You. :)

Simple trick that I try to hold on to. Don’t let praises of people matter, cos if it does then their rejection will matter too. Blessings.
