Here’s a quick reminder.

For Adam and Eve, sin preceded the shame. It opened the gates of guilt, separating them from God. Slander slipped off their tongues with ease. Unfavourable consequences followed. Access to Paradise was lost. Eve bore children in pain. Sweat and toil for food. Dispute among children. Generations of corrupted blood.

All the result of that one bite of disobedience.

When we take that one seemingly insignificant small bite into sin, we tend to forget that it opens endless windows giving the enemy the opportunity to jump right into our lives.

Don’t take it lightly when you open the wretched package of sin. What you are really doing is opening a can of worms that can crawl and creep their way into many other areas of your life.

Sin’s tentacles have a way of reaching into your emotions, bringing up corrupted memories, shaking your confidence in God. It also instills fear of the future and leaves you stripped of your authority in Christ.

In Galatians 5, we read 24 “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”

To walk daily with God, we then have to die daily to our desires of the flesh. Jesus, the absolute man did it and we can do it to, through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Let’s go!

Have you struggled with that small bite of temptation? What has been your motivation to walk with God?

Especially when one is outside the church (24×7), the biggest area when the small bite gets bigger and reaches the ‘welcome-to-the-club’status, is the area when we tend to chew on gossip; especially when you hear something and you can’t help adding to the conversation.

Blessed by this post good to be reminded that we need not struggle with that small bite of temptation but to keep in step with the Spirit.

juz a small bite… & opening a can of worms that can crawl and creep… thou they may not give a blasting effect initially… but slowly.. poisoning our life .. sometimes even unknowingly. But, Engaging ourselves , all the time, in giving glory and praise to The Lord along with our breathing… will definitely prevent us from d first bite.

…continuous communion with the Father…being actively involved in the relationship.

Love for Him must be the only thing that compels me to respond in obedience, any other obedience falls short. And that love grows progressively as we remain connected…. In fact, everything is redefined when we’re connected to Him.

The fruit of the Spirit is love….

I believe that. Quote: “…continuous communion with the Father…being actively involved in the relationship. ”

Amen Pallavi, somebody other day said, even when we cease to be faithful, His faithfulness never cease.

You are right Bro Shyju. I have to admit that eventhough we are born again Christians , temptations will always be there throughout our journey in this life and the greater the trials we are facing especially in areas of financial difficulty the greater the temptations but whether we are taking the devil’s bait is all on us. We need to be strong in our faith that even to near edge, we will not let the sins of temptations to take over us but believing that we will be under His eyes and care. We must always meditate in His words and always confirming to ourselfs that the Devil is a devour and He knows only how to steals, kills and destroy! and we must not let him have even a footstool to stand on us. This we pray, Amen!
