A Letter From the Young Leaders – Power Nuggets

To all who are listening.

I understand that it’s sometimes scary to invest and trust in us young leaders.

We can be overtly passionate, pumped up with adrenaline, crazily bold, act often without pondering, occasionally making dramatic mistakes and daringly persistent!

What alternative would you like us to take to failure? Is it better to do nothing? Continue Reading

Faytene on Handling Critics, Criticism, Marriage & Church

Welcome to our 200th post on this young blog. This is Part 2 of the GTH Interview with Faytene Grasseschi (Kryskow), whom God is using powerfully to awaken a nation to the power of prayer. (See the Part 1 of this amazing story on how prayer can change indeed nations!). In this segment, Faytene offers powerful words of wisdom and encouragement on leadership and life matters.

7. What would you share with young leaders who are interested in launching prayer movements in other parts of the world?

Just do it! You’ve got one life to live. I often think of an awesome quote by a woman named Joan of Arc, who turned a nation through faith and out of the power of being led by God’s voice. She said: Every man and every woman give their lives for what they believe. Sometimes people believe in little or nothing, and they give their life to that little or nothing. One life is all you have; you live it and it’s gone. But to live without faith is more terrible than dying, even more terrible than dying young.

Steve Jobs – What Can We Learn From Him?

This is a guest post from my friend, Blessen Varghese. See his other post on GTH here.

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs (Feb 24, 1955 – Oct 5, 2011)

I’ve never owned any Apple product. Ever. Not even an iPod nano. I am not sure if I will ever join their consumer’s club. Yet, when Steve Jobs lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on 5th of October 2011, it seemed more like a personal loss. And I am sure, I am not alone. There were many around the world, who were deeply saddened by the demise of this great innovator.

Please note – most of these guys have never met Jobs, and many, like me, don’t even own an Apple product. Why then was there grief across the world over somebody they’ve never met? Well, that’s what ‘game-changers’ can do! Make an impact, not just in people’s minds, but also find a place in their hearts.

What is it that made Steve Jobs special? What can we, as children of the living GOD, learn from this once-in-a-lifetime entrepreneur?

What Ambassadors of Christ Can Learn From This U.S Ambassador

Here is an excerpt from a recent Times of India news article:

US Ambassador to China - Backpack Coffee Starbucks

A recent photograph of Gary F. Locke, the new United States ambassador to China, buying coffee with his 6-year old daughter and carrying a black backpack at a Starbucks in the Seattle airport has gone viral on the Chinese Internet. The seemingly banal scene has bewildered and disarmed Chinese because they are used to seeing their own officials indulge in privileged lives often propped up by graft and bribery and lavish expense accounts.

“To most Chinese people, the scene was so unusual it almost defied belief,” Chen Wei-hua, an editor at China Daily, wrote. Continue Reading

Finding the Giant & then Standing Tall

[This post is a part of the, Guarding the Heart power series. If you missed it, you can view it here.]

Rev. Dr. John Mc Donald. is based in Brantford, Canada he & his dear wife Lorna speak & mentor many young people.

“If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” – Isaac Newton

Why It’s Important to Find Mentors

a. One of the things I believe is that it’s possible to be accelerated in life and ministry.
b. This, of course, depends on several factors like discipline, teachability, focus, call of God etc.

What to Look For

I’ve narrowed my focus in choosing a Mentee to a specific spiritual gifting. I chose Evangelists. I’ve made it my specialty because I believe it is one of the most neglected giftings. I think of “the gift of the Evangelist” as the “birthing mechanism” of the Church, and if I was the devil, I would kill and destroy it. That is why there are so few, real, pure evangelists.

The Dilemma of a Pastor’s wife

This is a guest post from Dr. Abigail O., who loves God and her dear husband, while also juggling her responsibilities at the church(as a pastor’s wife), her work place and her precious three kids.

The Pastor’s wife? Dilemma? I thought she had the best job in the world  – always smiling as she stands beside her husband. Her husband is held in high esteem, she is always so composed and her children are always on their best behavior. Continue Reading

Power-Lessons in the Ministry (Video)

As we stepped into 2011, some of the young leaders got together at our house for a fun-filled time and fellowship. Amidst all that we did, we discussed some of the challenges faced by young leaders in the ministry and how they overcome it each time.

If you are a young person in the ministry, I wouldn’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to know you are not alone and you can always be an overcomer.
