Is Imitation Wrong in the Church? – Power Nuggets

Very often I will have someone telling me not to imitate somebody else. Especially because of my admiration toward certain men of God.

Then recently I heard someone tell another young man the same thing.

And I pondered on that quite a bit.

How about Paul urging us to imitate him? 1 Corinthians 4:16, 1 Corinthians 11:1, Philippians 3:17

Could that be only his faith or would it include his passion, prayer, writing and preaching? Or for that matter, would Jesus have said, go find your own styles and don’t mimic Me? Continue Reading

The Lord recently strengthened a young leader to plant a focused Church. It’s been a pleasure to see many young leaders rise and take over what was before restricted to the seminary graduates and the elderly experienced folks.

My desire for all those leaders that are called to plant a Church is to have an ‘Acts of the Apostles-based Church’. Surely that is the real model for all our churches.

Late Dr. Dhinakaran was a great General of God that India has seen till date. His life and ministry influenced millions of souls and many thousands of pastors.

Once while meeting a young leader, uncle asked him how much of the Word of God would he read daily.The young man quickly said three chapters a day and five chapters on a Sunday.

He gently replied, “Son, if you want to be used as a mighty man of God, you must read at least hundred pages of God’s word everyday.”

Now I write this not to establish a rule of any sort but to highlight the truth of how much importance was given to consuming the Word of God. Continue Reading

According to a new study, led by sociologists Hui-Tzu Grace Chou and Nicholas Edge at Utah Valley University, U.S., the more time people spend time on social networking sites, like Facebook, the stronger their belief that others are happier than them. Researchers claim that carefully chosen pictures of cheerful faces, which Facebook users tend to upload on their profiles, actually portray a debilitating message to others.

A few months ago, a young leader wrote to me asking for forgiveness. He said that he had been harbouring jealousy in his heart against me and that my Facebook pictures had caused him to feel that way towards our ministry.
