Multiple Site Church Services Through Video!

A week before, we blogged on the creative use of technology for Church Announcements. This week, I want to highlight that some of the leading growing churches in the West use technology to conduct simultaneous services through video every Sunday.

When we were in New Life Assemblies of God Church in Chennai, I was told that they have successfully been able to project their service in the new grounds simultaneously. Yet talking to some other leaders they seem to have some worries on how it might work for them.

There are many reasons for the same. Some do not believe in it. Many of these areas do not have fast internet connections. And yet some others have never given it a thought.

Blogging for Christ

In the last few months, I have been asked several questions about my blog from friends who desired to start their own. Incidentally, based on a Google statistic, I was startled to find out that the word “Jesus” was searched more than 13,600,000 times (Global monthly searches) and 27,100 searches for “who Jesus is”, over 8000 searches for “proof of Jesus” and over 5000 times for “did Jesus exist and was Jesus real?”

Is Your Church Twitterrific?

The Church today has been experimental enough to reach beyond the church pews and use more than just the time-tested methods that it has been accustomed to. 10 Tips for Public Speaking

It might surprise some of you if I said that many personality tests that I have taken have been very consistent in concluding that I’m an introvert. I have pushed myself repeatedly, with God’s help, to face people but given a chance, I would still love to hide in a room with people I know. I have taken time off to write this because this is one subject on which I frequently get asked questions about from curious people who generally find it hard to face crowds. I began preaching from the age of 7 and ever since, the Lord has blessed me to minister to all kinds of audiences; dead, boring, excited and even the jumpy. Here are few thoughts that can serve you. This post is intentionally long for those who are serious to find help. Continue Reading

Delegating and Planning an Event

There are many meetings that I go to and I wish that people had organized it better. I certainly do realise that at times passion does not necessarily mean being organized.

I have put together some simple event planning ideas for to help anyone who could be looking for some help to organize and better facilitate an event. This is not a professional event management post. It is to help those ministries who are planning a basic meeting and are not acquainted with people who can assist or direct them with a proper planning structure. Here are a few tips to escape massive chaos.

At this point, I am assuming that your funds are already approved or in place. Begin by understanding that you cannot run around for everything yourself. You need to, you must and you should DELEGATE your work.

Find people who are aligned to the vision of the event. Do a simple assessment to know who are capable and determine their strengths. Once you get to know them, you will be better informed and will know who will be able to get things done and are able to follow the instructions to meet set requirements. Ensure that each person is only assigned the task in the area of his strength and know-how.

Find below a few basic areas that you can cover, team-wise: Continue Reading
